Nourished by the AMERICAN POP movements, Chamane defines himself as a «pacifist warrior» who wishes to return the more accessible art… Chamane is willing to free himself from pictures of which the society continually is watered: not by denying them, but by making his owns. While underlining the paradoxes and the ambiguities of the universal symbols that dominate on our modern society and transform the human being in consumer, Chamane considers his works as totems, delimiting our respective personal universe, or as open windows on a world, that one keeps on colouring again in order to keep from seeing them becoming definitively grey. Invariably, he wishes the eye could stare there day or night, while using in his paint, phosphorescent pigments that allow thus the canvas to glow in the dark, so that the very essence of his works comes out. From this quest is born a very coloured universe, populated strange personages, sexy, mostly inked in which the emotion prevails and expresses itself…
In 2009, Chamane explores new horizons by moving to Mexico, countries rich in colors and cultures. He created “Funky Ink Tattoo ‘ his HQ , half tattoo shop, half gallery and “atelier” and he’s is closer to the USA where he worked with FA + D in Los Angeles and in Mexico City, works with ARTRafico Gallery (Polanquito).
in 2011 Chamane moved his studio to Puerto Escondido, Temple of surf and unique touristic paradise on the pacific coast. And in 2014, he launch his new project, the FUNKY INK GALLERY- BUENA ONDA SOCIAL CLUB, an new concept of art gallery where you can get inked, talk about Art, where talents meets and where you can create cool collective events. An new way of living Puerto Escondido.
